The Think Twice project is reshaping how media literacy is taught in classrooms across Europe-and in Lithuania, that transformation is already unfolding in powerful ways. Loreta, a geography teacher at Alytus Dainava Progymnasium, has successfully brought media literacy into her lessons, using it not just as a side topic, but as a core part of how students learn about the world.

“Before participating in the workshops, I had never considered how media literacy could be integrated into geography lessons,” Loreta recalls. “Now, I see how essential it is for students to analyze the information they encounter-especially when we discuss global issues.” Teaching 5th to 8th graders, she found new confidence in guiding her students to question facts, verify sources, and reflect on the credibility of online content.

But Loreta didn’t stop at discussion-she took it a step further by testing the Think Twice educational game, Think Outside the Box, in five different classrooms. During these sessions, students first explored key concepts around misinformation and digital literacy, then engaged in the interactive game to apply what they had learned. The results were overwhelmingly positive.

“The game brought the topic to life in a way that felt real and fun,” Loreta shared. “It was encouraging to see how quickly students understood the idea of misinformation and started using the critical thinking tools we’d discussed.”

Students not only enjoyed the experience but gave valuable feedback, praising the game for its engaging storyline and for helping them think more clearly about the online content they consume. The combination of discussion, gameplay, and reflection proved to be a powerful formula for learning.

Stories like Loreta’s highlight the tangible impact of Think Twice-not just as a training programme, but as a catalyst for change inside classrooms. By giving educators the resources and confidence to explore digital topics, and by providing learners with tools to navigate an often confusing digital world, the project is making a lasting difference.
