On 12 November 2025, CESIE’s School Unit hosted a stakeholder and policymaker meeting as part of the EU School 2025: Future scenarios for tomorrow schools’ event, held at the President Hotel in Palermo. The gathering brought together 10 professionals from the education and employment sectors, including teachers, school leaders, and experts with between five and twenty years of experience in the field.

Although all participants were encountering the Think Twice project for the first time, their engagement was immediate and sustained. Once the project’s aims, tools, and educational resources were presented, attendees actively contributed to discussions, integrating reflections from their professional backgrounds and exploring the relevance of the materials to their own contexts.

The meeting emphasized media literacy as a crucial component of contemporary education, particularly in supporting learners to critically navigate the digital landscape. Participants widely agreed on its growing importance across school and community environments.

Despite recognizing the value of the Think Twice Guide and the Micro-Credentials, several contributors expressed doubts about the feasibility of embedding it formally within existing institutional frameworks. However, they highlighted strong potential for applying the guide through non-formal educational activities, such as workshops and participatory learning experiences. These formats, they noted, offer the flexibility and creativity needed to meaningfully introduce media literacy into varied learning settings.

Feedback from the group was consistently positive. Participants appreciated the clarity of the agenda, the balanced distribution of activities, and the opportunities provided for reflection and exchange. They valued the chance to connect with peers, discuss practical examples from national contexts, and consider how Think Twice tools could support learners across diverse age groups. Many emphasized the project’s relevance particularly within informal and non-formal learning environmentswhere innovation and learner participation can be emphasized more freely

The stakeholder meeting successfully fostered dialogue, collaboration, and shared understanding around media literacy and innovative educational tools. Through CESIE’s facilitation within the EU School event, participants left with a deeper awareness of the Think Twice project and renewed motivation to explore pathways for strengthening critical digital skills in their respective communities.
